Shadow is a small application that I have converted to a "fat binary" to run native code on both 68000 and PowerPC Macintosh. It displays a map of the world in small window and, shortly there after, draws the shadow (or dark parts) of the earth.
The first time that you run Shadow, you need to select your time zone and turn on the Daylight savings checkbox, if appropriate. Shadow will remember these settings as well as the window position for the next time.
Every few minutes the shadow is updated. Shadow is small enough to leave open on your Mac -- and is fun to keep an eye on where it is day and night in the world.
